Silver Chinchilla This is one of the earliest man-made varieties, and was given it's own class at Crystal Palace in 1894. These cats have a stunning coat with silver tipping on a pure-white undercoat which makes them look as if they sparkle when they move, pure white chest, small round-tipped ears, with large round expressive emerald green or blue-green with black eyerims which gives the impression of the cat wearing eyeliner Temperament is docile. |
Golden Chinchilla The distinctive colouring of these cats results from the shading on the individual hairs. The undercoat varies from apricot to gold, with seal-brown or black tipping on the head, back flanks, and tail. The legs can be shaded, with a solid coloured area that corresponds to the colour of the tipping, extending from the paw up to the heal. Paw pads may be seal-brown or black. Temperament is docile. |

Cat owners know that hairballs are a problem, regular grooming can significantly reduce the amount of hair licked by cats, and thereby reduce the hairball problem. As you may know, cats were equipped with an abrasive tongue to perform some grooming, but it is not the same as an overall beneficial grooming. More...
